I was an avid runner in my early 50's when I noticed that my right leg wouldn't  keep up with the left. After  an extensive evaluation  I was felt to have Parkinson's disease in the spring of 2009. After keeping my condition private for a year and a half, I signed up to run the 2010 New York City Marathon for TEAM FOX on a whim. I had the fortune of personally meeting  and chatting with Michael J. Fox a few days before the marathon in Central Park. I was immediately impressed with his sincerity, optimism, and dedication. Meeting MJF and being a part of the TEAM FOX  family has been life-altering. MJF, the TEAM FOX staff, members with PD and their families have been instrumental in spreading awareness about PD, raising funds for PD research and for giving patients and families with Parkinson's disease hope.

I have continued my involvement with TEAM FOX because I love the people involved, I have been motivated and inspired by the optimism, creativity, dedication, and hard work of the group, and because it is clear to me that the efforts of the Michael J. Fox Foundation will be necessary to find a cure for PD.

In celebration of my last ever marathon, I was very fortunate to recruit several friends and family members to run the 2020 NYC Marathon with me.  Unfortunately the event has been cancelled due to COVID-19; however the search for a cure continues, so our team is fundraising now even though we will not be running the marathon until at least 2021.

Thanks to my 2020 NYC Marathon teammates, the TEAM FOX family and all my family and friends for their generosity, kindness, and support over the last decade.
